Maillot jaune (pronounced [majo ʒoːn]) is the jersey worn by the current overall leader of many bicycle races, originally and most notably the Tour de France. It is French for "yellow jersey." It allows the rider who was in the overall lead at the end of the previous day to be easily identified during the race.

Flight back to Singapore December 13th. Finish with my BSc Sports Science degree @ Edith Cowan University.

Cycling has been on certain highs and lows this year. I'm looking forward to starting training again for 2007.

National MTB championships has been a 4 weeks major intensive race that I had prepared for, looking back I got a flat and a broken chain and had to fight the challenges, I was reminded that it was not my strength on the 7/10 lap, suddenly I had to pray and ask God for help! I ran that 1 full lap like a 100 meters sprint when my chain broke, it took me 5 minutes to fix my chain and 2 guys passed me. I will never forget that experience after fixing my chain and all fired up to chase down the leaders, thankfully I had Lippy and Rebecca to help out, and most of all Asma and Winson who picked up and removed the bad link and provided me with a chain breaker tool.

2 more exam papers to go today and tomorrow evening...

Thank God for your day

Perth Mar. 9th, 2006 @ 04:03 pm
I'm back in Perth.
Started school and into the second week now.
I've got 10 assignments and loads of training to catch up on.

We went to Pemberton Classic, 300km south of Perth for a weekend race.
Manage to clinch 3rd for the B grade Crit, and 4th for the Road race.

Did a Vo2 Max test just now at the lab, 5 minutes protocol 50watts, 315watts.

Lots of aerobic fitness to get back together.

I've shifted to Glendalough, its 5 minutes drive to town.
That means more group rides for me!

» just as it takes hard work
I'm struck here for the past 10 days doing my motor skills assignment.. Its hard work that gets me the marks that I strive for..
I guess I look at things the way I do with my training and racing. I call it perfection.

27 Nov a date to remember and count down to, thats the date for the sea games mtb event

meanwhile i'll juggle the stress of school and training better than last semester..

I'll be moving house to 59 Lakeside Dr, just a stone throw away from school.

ATTA is having a mtb time trial this weekend will be turning up for that one..
Came in last on Sunday's MTB race in the elite cat. realised my seatpost dropped, and couldn't even keep up on the first lap, what a bummer.
» falling sick
got a bit of a sore throat when i woke up yesterday... immune system down

bonked on wednesday when i went out for my 2 hr ride, although i had gels in my pocket i didn't use them...
with the new stress of school blah blah blah
coupled with my 2 HIT training that i did @ Gooseberry Hill, training has been good

Training has to tone down till I recover.

borrowed like tons of books from the lib about Fundamental Movement Patterns in Childhood Development, its for my assignment, reading and bookmarking them.

i've realised that Subiaco Market and City is indeed a very charming place compaired to Perth City, coffee joints and small shops.

Enjoying Norah Jones album, weather here averages at 21 degrees C mid day.
» HIT and vomitting
I clearly remember training with Mr X (don't want to name anyone) at Kent ridge hill, our 12 sets of intervals resulted in 6 vomitting sessions, that I will never forget.
Did my long HIT(High Intensity Interval Training) at Gooseberry hill with my MTB on wednesday, started to cough due to the dry air, am not sure if I've pushed the right intensity, it'll be good to use the SRM.
Endurance 2hrs zone 1-2.
So far I've got 2 assignments, 2 more to come.
Its gona get busy very soon, planning ahead to submit my reports early.
Have to give it a really good balance of trainining and studies.

Just came back from the library, had to do my readings for my 3rd year module Biomechanics 2.
Theres someone's birthday party downstairs, everyone there is cross dressed. While I'm cooking my sea food fried rice for 3 more meals it'll be stored in the freedge.

I decided, won't be going to Bail for the MTB ACC in Aug.
Instead the Pre Sea games in September, and the MTB nationals, of course the SEA games as well in November.
36km Mens Elite Cross Country Mountain Bike.

thats all for now,
sam
